Renting and Your Credit Score
When applying for a rental property keep in mind most rental agencies use a third party background check company to complete the application. The background check company will complete a check on rental references, criminal, income verification and credit. These four factors will affect whether your application will be approved or denied. In general applications that are approved have credit scores of 600+, good rental references with prompt payments and no evictions, income which is 3X the monthly rent to show ability to pay, and no criminal activity such as felonies, aggressive behavior or drug-related activity.
